The Scarlet Thorn

Well with Nightfall being completed, I decided to take a bit of a break from the heavy topics. I’ve decided to work on a short novel that will be something of a Romantic Fantasy and Parody mixed into one. A few of my friends already know this but I’m a huge fan of the villainess trope. No matter how predictable or bad the story is, I always find myself diving head-first into anything with a villainess for the protagonist. So, I decided to go ahead and write one as a fun side project. Currently I’ve only just barely started this project, but I do hope to have it ready to go by around June. It should be significantly shorter than Nightfall in terms of total word count, but so far it’s been a blast to write. Every now and then we all need a break from the heavy topics to simply just sit back and enjoy something fun.

In any case, I’ve uploaded the current synopsis in the upcoming novels section of my website. The book cover should be coming in the next few days so I’ll post that there as well once I get it. In any case, I do hope you guys enjoy!

Current Progress:

It all began with an idea.

Hey all!

I’ve just finished my rough draft of the manuscript for Nightfall. Currently, I’m going through the first rounds of editing, but it’s going to take a good few months of polishing this book up in order to prepare it for a full release. In any case, if all goes well then it should be out sometime around October 2025 this year. While waiting for this novel to go through its edits, I’ll start on the companion novel. Currently I’ve got around three core books and three companion novels planned for the Ashborne series. I tend to love the Third Person Limited POV so rather than jumping around in five different perspectives, I think it would be fun to give some of the side characters their own fully fleshed out arcs and development in companion novels. In any case, I do hope you all enjoy!

I do plan to do some early pre-launch sales and specially bound books if I can find a local company that will do the design that I want for the hardback. I’ll update you guys here once I’m sure of when and where that will be.

Thanks so much!

Leanne Summers
